A delicious healthy treat that's quick and easy to make
Always have a little cheeky chocolate in the fridge with this super simple recipe.
You don’t really need a recipe or even measure any ingredients, to make rich, velvety chocolate bark – it’s about getting creative and using your favourite flavours and textures.
Toppings
Nuts and seeds are great additions for added crunch. Sunflower, pumpkin and sesame seeds are all delicious, and any nuts will also work a perfectly, either roughly chopped or sprinkled over whole. Pistachios are great for adding a splash of colour.
Adding dried fruits brings texture and sweetness. Try sprinkling over raisins, currants, cherries, chopped dates, figs, apricots, or finely sliced mango.
The Chocolate
Ingredients:
Equal parts
- Cacao
- Coconut Oil
- Raw Maple Syrup
Method
Mix equal parts of Cacao, Coconut Oil & Raw Maple Syrup together until it forms a smooth consistency. Pour onto a reusable baking liner and spread evenly using a spatula. You can make it as thin as you like.
While the mixture is still soft, add your toppings, e.g. nuts, dried fruit, seeds, coconut.. Be creative and have fun! The kids will love joining in. You can add different toppings to different portions of your tray, which means when it’s broken up you’ll have a nice mix of flavours and textures.
Once you’ve finished your masterpiece, place it in the fridge for a couple of hours to cool. When completely set, break up in to rough shards. Store in an airtight container for a quick sweet treat.
Enjoy
xx
